Greetings from the Mayor of Jerusalem to festival attendees

Dear Visitors,

There are few cities as diverse as Jerusalem. Jerusalem is a mosaic of people, communities, views, sites, smells and tastes. I invite you to take part in the Jerusalem Festival of Light and see the exhibits and sites in a new light.

Each visit to Jerusalem is different; there are always new places to discover. During the Jerusalem Festival of Light you can experience a new side of the city and see the Old City from a novel angle.

This is the second year that the festival organizers have demonstrated their competence and diligence. Their hard work enables us all to enjoy a special experience in the city’s public spaces, alleys and squares. The festival has developed and will host this year even more artists from Israel and abroad.

During the festival Jerusalem’s unique view will be illuminated by the use of different artistic lighting methods that grant a new dimension to our favorite Jerusalem sites.

I congratulate the Jerusalem Development Authority, Ariel Company, contributors, partners and artists for this wonderful production.

Greetings from the Chairman of the Jerusalem Development Authority to festival attendees

I keenly and confidently invite you to the Jerusalem Festival of Light because I already know that this is an invitation to a unique, fascinating and exciting experience.

During the Festival, Jerusalem is hosting artists from Israel and abroad who collectively express the international language of light. The combination of art, light and the beauty of Old City at night captures one’s eye and heart. It is nearly impossible to describe this charm in words; all that it left is to warmly invite you take part in this experience.

The Jerusalem Development Authority encourages the development of culture and night in the city. Our goal is to turn Jerusalem into an inviting, accessible city- culturally, spiritually and aesthetically, for residents and visitors to enjoy.
