Site number 10 The “Hurva” synagogue tells the life story of Jews in Jerusalem and their aspiration for Israel’s return to its country and redemption. The installation includes pictures, movies and graphics, beautifully designed to convey feelings of destruction and construction, life and holiness, pain and happiness, emotions associated with “Hurva”. Amit Shay creates performances, festival and interdisciplinary installations for various audiences in Israel and abroad. She specializes in huge productions of significant content and meaning. Her works portray meaningful messages and are artistically extraordinary. Her partner, Yael Mann, who worked on the installation’s visual design, is a graduate of Parsons School of Design (New York) and has worked at the Internal Design Department at the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art). Mann studied design at Bezalel and currently runs the company “Mann Design” that focuses on marketing design and video design for events. The musician Moshe Yosef created the sound for the installation. Yosef, owner of “Bit Studio”, has adapted music for over twenty five years. He has conducted, managed, adapted and composed many musical productions.
