Site number 7 A light installation that invokes a vision of future greenery. The piece is a thicket of shining grass that maintains modern aesthetics, is delicate and integrates naturally into an urban setting. The sides are decorated with pastel lights that create an urban-rustic view and a glamorous poppy look. The relationship between the stalk’s height and diameter gives the plants elasticity and allows them to imitate the natural movement of plants. first shown at the ‘Lumiere’ Festival in Durham, England and was produced by Artichoke in collaboration with Sky Arts. The TILT Group was established in 2001 by two lighting designers, Francis Folley and Jean Batiste Lod, who aspire to “enlighten the light” by an artistic medium. They believe that even when scattered, divided, transparent, colorful or connected to other materials, light is a plastic material that allows one to create and change atmosphere, set design and aesthetics. Their work combines a gentle, dreamlike atmosphere with an industrial high-tech world. TILT creates illuminated scenes, “light decorations”, for performances and installations at cultural events. The group works with open spaces in urban areas and in private and public spaces. The uniqueness of TILT is their development of two creative areas: the pure creation in light and the creation of a world illuminated by these light installations. The installations complete and enrich the world they craft while creating a clever relationship that surpasses the borders between inside and outside and between greenery and urbanity. Go back |
