Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 at 20:30 The extraordinary concert integrates music and lighting. The show includes the work of the internationally renowned light Architect Gert Hof and the music of The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra IBA orchestrated by Gal Altrovich. This virtuosi performance will mark the ending of the Israel Festival and the beginning of the Light Festival in the Old City. The performance will grant the visitors an enchanted experience along the Old City walls, which serves as the background for this onetime event. Gert Hof is one of the pioneer artists that transformed light into a central part in monumental performances. In the 1990’s he began creating mega-events, a celebration of senses by the use of multimedia. These creations included the use of progressive lighting equipment, pyrotechnics, screening, theatrics and music. Everywhere Gert goes he creates a feeling of anticipation and excitement. Each of his thrilling creations incorporates art and music. Among his main creations are: The Millennium event at the Acropolis in Athens, The Millennium event in Beijing and collaborations with famous artists such as Michael Oldfield, Roger Water, Mikis Theodorakis, Nick Cave and more.
